All About ICT

In this semester, I had registered the Information and Communication in Science course which is conducted by Associate Professor Dr Sopia Md Yassin. Dr Sofia conducts the lecture class with the help of Cik Suziati Ibrahim that conduct during practical season. In this course, we were introduced to many technologies that we may use as our Teaching and learning resources especially. We learn about new software and stuff like Interactive White Board (IWB), data logging, simulation and modelling and E-Portfolio. Those were very interactive and make me excited to learn more about it as we have not used it before this.

In the early week, we had been introduced to Interactive White Board which also called as IWB. As we all know, traditional board is the board that used chalk and not so interesting to doing Teaching and learning process but with IWB, this board can drag the icon or play a game on the board with colourful features. It is so interesting and can help teacher in T&L process to be more meaningful.

Besides, we learned how to make blog too. My friends and I need to make E-portfolio which includes biodata, collection of assignment education philosophy and many more. With this blog, I can upload my assignment without fear if my laptop has a problem. Just find the internet, the I manage to have my assignment again.

As a future science teacher-want-to be, carry out an experiment is not a new thing for us. But with data logging, it would make our experiment done very well. There are many types of sensor that can connect to the data logger such as pulse sensor, temperature sensor, humidity sensor, pH sensor and others. Using this equipment, students can do an experiment without wasting their time in obtaining the result because the data logger will help them to take the data and plot the graph.

As a conclusion, I hope that all the technologies that I had learned through this one semester will help me to be a creative and a quality teacher. By using simulation and modelling in T&L process it will be more interactive and fun. The student also will more understand about that topic. I want them to thinking out of the box to make sure our future science student become too nerd. Technologies are creates to make our life easier and interesting, so do not waste it. Use it wisely.
